After about 6 months of non-stop work of our design, marketing and programming team, we are launching our new web site design, new image and new products. We are introducing a lot of changes and it’s only a preview of what 2007 will look like at iWeb. The first change you will notice is our new domain name : iWeb8.Com.
Goodbye dot CA, Hello dot COM
We are moving from iWeb.Ca to the new iWeb8.Com. We liked our .CA and it’s still online for sure. iWeb.Ca now shows an introduction page to iWeb8.Com. Dot CA is a great domain extension, but obviously it’s country related. Since we introduced our competitive Dedicated Servers offers years ago we have focused on letting the world know that there was a Canadian alternative for dedicated servers and that we could compete with the biggest US providers. Now, that has become a well known fact in the industry and we think it’s time to switch from that country related image to a new worldwide image.
Why iWeb8.Com ?
You are asking why? Then we made a point, because you will remember. Isn’t iWeb8.Com an easy to remember dot COM? We think so. That’s the first reason why we have chosen to rebrand around this new domain name. We want you to remember our domain name.
Our new worldwide image will not only be supported by our new domain name, but also by the new toll free numbers we offer in over 30 different countries, the country flag we show in our web site’s header and new marketing campains. We want everyone to feel like home at iWeb.

* A lucky number in Chinese culture, 8 is sudden fortune and prosperity.
* The octopus has 8 legs and we like the octopus ! (We know, that’s odd! Stay tuned for more about the Octopus)

Are domain registrations working? I clicked on the “Transfer” button and got a transfer page– in French. If they’re not working yet, I hope you announce when they are! I have a number of domains to transfer. :D

Hiya – I just got an email invoice from the new billing@iweb8.com address, but when I replied to it with a question, it bounced back as undeliverable. What is the correct billing address? I just resent to billing@iweb.ca – will it get to someone? Thanks for your help!

Domain registration is not working in english yet … but there should be no links to the french version on the english domains page, I will look at it. We’ll be working on the domain registration services soon hang on :-) For the bounce, we’ll look at it.

I like the new design, I also checked out the new order page. It flat out rocks, new AMD Opteron chips, and complete server hardware customization.
I’ve noticed a few language errors here and there, but overall pretty good job.

I hope the new rates for domain names will be competitive so that I can finally buy domains (I manage 300+) here instead of g-daddy and d-atcost (for .ca)
A T-cows / enom style API would be even better, I’m sure you guys can do it !

For the language errors, if you see some let us know. We will try to go through the web site again to find them but there’s a lot of text so it’s not easy ! As for the domain names, rates should be competitive.

And the last I noticed, if you go to any Order/Customize server page, and look under RAM:
1Go RAM Included
2GB RAM? Add $25.00 /month
4GB RAM? Add $50.00 /month
I’m guessing it should say “1GB RAM”, not “1Go RAM”?

I like the new design, do to the fact that I am not crazy about all the web2.0 trend, but is ok. On a scale from 1 to 10 I will give it a 7. The resone, is stell a lot of work to be made. Also I have seen that after a few days that the phone number have appear near the flag it have vanished now i have someting like this:
Call us Now: DEFAULT_PHONE_NUMBER
not nice, but is very easy to fix.
Keep it comeing, the new offers are great, realy!
