Here is an update about the work going on at our iWEB-CL datacenter. Last week, a press release announced a new financing deal in order to complete “Phase 2″ of iWEB-CL’s datacenter expansion. This new financing will be used in order to expand the datacenter and install additional equipments which will allow us to increase the number of servers that can be hosted at iWEB-CL. After this expansion phase, we will have everything in place to host up to 4000 servers in the DC and only minor additions will be needed in the future to raise the capacity to 12 000 servers which is iWEB-CL’s full capacity.

Work is currently going on to upgrade power supply, redundancy, air conditioning and a lot more. We are also building a new Network Operation Center inside the datacenter. A new 500kvA UPS has just been installed next to the current 300kvA UPS. Another 500kvA UPS unit has been delivered and the installation should be completed in a few weeks. As stated, the work is currently in progress as you will notice on the pictures at the bottom of the article.

The building extension will shelter the water towers which will assure cooling for the air conditioning units. It will also be next to a new electrical room where a new 5000A power supply will be connected. Next to this new section will be located 1.5MW generators, the first one has been received and will be installed in the next weeks.

Coming soon; a second 1.5MW generator is planned, the installation of 3 Liebert air conditioning units of 30 tons each for the new dedicated servers section, 1 Liebert air conditioning unit of 22 tons for the colocation section and a the new 5000A power capacity.
